Wildlife in Rajasthan

Rajasthan the very word when echoed in our mind evoke images
of opulent forts, palaces, havelis and barren lands with glittering sands. It is not only famous for heritage and cultural beauty, but the state too is globally acclaimed for wildlife parks and sanctuaries that are home to some of the rare species of birds and endangered animals. Despite hostile topography of Rajasthan which ranges from desert to the lush green forest and from rocky terrain of the Aravalis to the fresh water wetlands provide excellent conditions for the growth of wildlife.

 The state of Rajasthan is home to many well known National Parks and sanctuaries of India. It has four national parks namely Ranthambore National Park, Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, Sariska Wildlife Sanctuary and Desert National Park.

 Sariska and Ramthambore National Park is globally from their tiger population and are very popular among wildlife lovers as the park are the best place to spot tiger in their natural kingdom. Beside all these wildlife also include exotic wildlife reserves among which the prominent are Bhensrod Garh Sanctuary, Kumbhalgarh Sanctuary, Jawahar Sagar Sanctuary, Jaisamand Sanctuary and Darrah Sanctuary.

These wildlife parks and sanctuaries are home to varied species of rare and endangered animals among which tourist’s longs to see Tigers, panthers, sambar, bison, Black bucks, Chinkara and rare desert fox.
