Established in 8th century by an ethnic king Chauhan the temple is one of the most prominent and promising sites of the Abhaneri, which was renowned as Abhanagri during the reign of king Chand.

History Behind Harshat Mata Temple
It was during a reign of King Chand who visualise the native prospect and established the temple of Goddess Harshat and it is firmly believe by the local people that it is goddess Harshat who brings joy, happiness and prosperity. Unfortunately with an invasion of Mughal and Turkish who are believed to be an antagonist separated a singular thought of religion and destroyed many temples which includes vivacious temple of Harshat.
