Mount Abu, the Enthralling Hill Station in Rajasthan

Mount Abu is the only pristine hill station amid the barren land of Rajasthan, which is perched at an altitude of around 1,220 m above sea level. Mount Abu has been the subject of interest for the archeologists as it holds several sites of ancient and medieval origin which drives these history seekers.
Apart from these, this imposing mount holds different species of flora, which is a source of attraction for the domestic as well as the international tourists. Nakki Lake: According to the legends this beautiful lake has got its name from a mythological story, which says that the lake was dug at the heart of Mount Abu by the Gods with their nails or nak. Few sections of the local tribes living at this place regard this lake as a holy one. The Nakki Lake is also the only manmade lake in India, which is located at an altitude of 1200 m above sea level. Placed at the heart of the hill station and just at a walking distance from the main market, the lake is one of the chief tourist hubs of the region. It is the perfect place to spend some quality time with friends, family or beloved ones while boating on the waters of this scenic lake.

Toad Rock: The Toad Rock is situated close to the Nakki Lake. It lies along one of the major trekking trails from Mount Abu. The rock resembles like a toad and is a huge one. This rock structure is one of the major attractions of Mount Abu, which is located in Aravalli mountain range. There are other rocks located at a close distance, which are Nandi Rock, Camel Rock and Nun Rock. The atmosphere at this place is pleasant with these rocks providing trekking and rock climbing. Wildlife Sanctuary: The Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the most primitive parts of the region. In the year 1960, this area was declared as the wildlife sanctuary. This wildlife sanctuary is widely known among the tourists for its sightseeing and scenic views. Apart from these the visitors also come to this place to enjoy the rich flora and fauna of this wildlife sanctuary.
